How do you store your Thimbles? Does it take up all your wallspace or do you dedicate one whole room to your collection? Please share your storage ideas and pictures would be appreciated.

Well, I guess most of us have thimbles in display cases on our walls. However, thimbles are crafty little things and creep into every available space (you need to watch them or they take over)! My friends in England, Celia & Ann have domes that they also display their thimbles in. Celia has domes on her windowsill and as she is also the proud owner of beautiful glass thimbles, the sun that shines in through the window gives off a 'rainbow like' effect - it was stunning, it looked like stained glass reflecting off the walls. It is not easy to find these domes in South Africa but we can order them from overseas. However, whether they will get here in one piece is another matter altogether.

Some time ago, Ferro Roche sold chocolates in a pyramid shaped plastic case, I bought 2 of these and gave away the chocolates (not my favourites) just for the pyramids (Jenny gave me the idea). I have just given Lindsay one to start her collection and it really is a great little display case. You need to keep your eyes open as right now, Ferro Roche are selling their chocolates in an ordinary rectangular case.

My daughter, Cheyenne, got some other fancy chocolates in a flat plastic case for Christmas which she has now given to me. I have keep the 'inner' in the box (the housing for the individual chocolates) and although this is not suitable for display purposes, I saw right away that it will make an ideal 'carry case' for thimbles that I want to take along to our thimble workshops or meetings to discuss.

Keep your eyes open for innovative ideas and please share them with us!

oh, I remember those ferro rocker cases, we usually see them at Christmas..
Good ideas! Smile
As I said in another thread, I saw what we call hobby boxes when I was shopping and I bought like 10 of them lol.. they are handy to sort the thimbles too, and if I wanna look at some thimbles in the cases I've taken some out and put them in the boxes to take a closer look Wink
