I was going to get some embriodery yarn in a box I never open really, and on the bottom of the box was a thimble I saved for sewing there, and guess what!! It's a Simon's thimble! I would never have known that if it wasn't for this group!

I recognise the makers mark inside, shaped like a thimble with the S and marked sterling silver around.

The rim has beautiful flowers around, they look like pansies to me. 

I'm still shaking my head, laughing haha.. how fun!  ...</description>

The most expensive thimble I've heard of is the Dolly Varden that went for 2000&#36; on auction.

The most I've personally paid for one is I guess it's the KMD I just bought, around 30 &#36; for the thimble, and then it raised to around 40&#36; for shipping, I will receive it soon and then I think it will end up being 60&#36;

I've never before this group paid any attention to antique thimbles, I'm sure that if I hadn't learned about  ...</description>
